Med första veckan av uni avklarad känner mig hittills nöjd med de kurser jag valt. Läser fyra kurser denna terminen, alla inom politik och internationella relationer då jag bara läste filosofi förra året. 

Creativity and Innovation

The challenges of the future require creative thinking and innovation to solve complex social, economic and environmental problems. This unit introduce you to critical and creative thinking tools and provide you with an understanding of the processes of innovation to develop your own creativity. Guest speakers from the university and industry will share lessons from renowned innovators in science, the arts, business and technology, and provide their own real-life examples of creative thinking, entrepreneurship and innovation.

Asia-Pacific in The Global System

This unit examines issues and development in the Asia-Pacific region that are of international concern and interest. These include: sources of consensus and conflict in and among nation states, democratisation and capitalist development; the World Bank and international development; international responses to failed and failing states; the nature of US power and the impact of the rise of China, regional crises and institutions; and environmental security.

Perspectives on Security and Terrorism

Introduction to the concepts of security, terrorism and counterterrorism. This unit examines the changing perceptions of security from military force to human security and security in cyberspace. It explains how terrorism undermines human security, subverts societal values, and threatens the society´s critical infrastructure. It also analyses between terrorism and religious tolerance, democracy and international law. It finally examines the phenomena of rouge states and weapons of mass destruction and how international society is expected to address them.

The European Union in the New Millennium; Challenges of Integration  

European integration has been hailed as the most ambitious and successful example of peaceful international cooperation in world history. This unit explores the origins and evolution of the European Union; its institutions; the key challenges facing the EU (the Eurozone crises, integration and enlargement, sovereignty, foreign and defence policy, citizen and diversity); and in particular the EU´s future in the 21^st century. 

Ser framförallt framemot kursen om EU. Ska bli intressant hur Europa ses från ett perspektiv utifrån kontinenten.

work, party and more work

Förra veckan var riktigt intensiv. Runt 400 personer anlände till campusboendet, och som RA så ingår det i mitt jobb att checka in dem, svara på frågor och hjälpa till där det behövs. De kvällar jag inte jobbade var jag på pooldäcket och mötte väldigt trevliga personer från hela världen medan vi spelade beer pong och flippy cup.

Denna veckan blir lite lugnare och med uni runt hörnet så ska det faktiskt bli skönt att komma in i dagliga rutiner. Igår var jag tillbaka på Cobra Martial Arts och hjälpte till med klasserna i åldrarna 3-5, 6-9 och 10-14. Kändes väldigt bra att vara tillbaka.

Nu ska jag äta lunch innan jag åker till gymmet.
